Central Bohemia
Prague
A thousand spires above the Vltava
All destinations
Prague unfolds along the Vltava in a panorama of Gothic, Baroque and Art-Nouveau silhouettes. The walk begins on Charles Bridge at dawn, crosses to Prague Castle, the largest ancient castle complex in the world, and enters St. Vitus Cathedral where Bohemian kings were crowned. In the Old Town the Astronomical Clock marks the hour with its procession of apostles, and narrow lanes lead past the Jewish Quarter, the Powder Tower and cubist façades found nowhere else. Each district, from Malá Strana to Vinohrady, tells its own chapter of a thousand-year capital that has lost none of its drama.
